AKG Moncton Rock n' Roll News: Winter 2016 Edition

Time for another round of news, dirt and hearsay from Moncton's rock and roll underground....

First up, the hardworking DIY punks in the Dirty Kills have much to celebrate as they have just released their first vinyl release. It's a 7" entitled Dead End Shithole and it's out on Tour Van Records....

The Phone Jerks, that lovable lo-fi garage noise quartet have recently laid down some tracks. Not sure what will become of them, but hopefully we'll see some sort of physical release in the near future. Recommended for fans of the Crypt, Estrus, Empty and Rip Off labels of the 1990's....

Nerve Button, veterans of the party anthem, have just released a self-titled 10 song cassette via Shake Records from Victoria BC. This same album will see a vinyl release by Wanda Records from Germany later this year. Expect them to crash your party real soon...

The ramshackle shag-haired garage trio known as the Disasterbaters recently managed a long trek to play Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto. By all accounts, they were well received and hope to return soon...

For those of you wondering what Eric Neurotic (Fear of Lipstick / Feral Trash) has been up to since he's left town for Ottawa, we can happily report that he hasn't been sitting idly on his sofa. He' got two news bands on the go. The first is called Cheap Whine and features members of the Steve Adamyk Band and the Creeps. The second band is called Chiller and features his love interest Ilisha French and a member of Mother's Children plus someone named Erin whose pedigree we don't know...

Perhaps this city's newest band is called Life of Crime. Featuring Jesse LeBlanc (Last Musueum / Fear Trash) plus Terry and James from Halifax's Outtacontroller. This long distance trio promises high energy dark and foreboding tunes. Playing out very soon...

Former Fear of Lipstick / Beaten Hearts guitarist Derek Lounder has assembled a new quartet after a few years of laying low. The new group is called St. Elsewhere and are playing at Nerve Button's cassette release show on March 19, 2016...

Another new act soon to be making the rounds is Radium Doxy. This is a trio consisting of Tracy (ex-Kamalas), Kate (ex-Mephistos) and Christine formerly of the Fucking Gummi Bears. Catch them this Saturday night at the Esquire...

After a long inexplicable delay, local record stores are now finally stocking the vinyl version of the Motorleague's Holding Patterns album. They've been getting a fair amount of radio play by the local hard rock station C103 and have been tapped to open for a number of major label artists so we wish them well. Can't wait to hear it...

And finally, there have been new recordings done by Deamons and Leather Jackyl. We cannot believe all this activity.
