Book Review: Sick On You: The Disasterous Story of The Hollywood Brats... by Andrew Matheson

A delightful romp through London's backstreets circa 1971-75 during that brief, post-hippie / pre-punk epoch. Imagine a band comprised of two Canadians, a Norwegian, an Irishman and a revolving door of bassists living in squalor and rehearsing in a threadbare bedsit and being too obstinate to quit. Now, imagine this same band playing loose and dangerous rock and roll and having a punk attitude years before such a word was used in common parlance. This is a witty and entertaining memoir of those dangerous times as told by the group's lead singer and main instigator. Highly recommended.  (RA)
